Wang Jian, president of BGI
BGI, founded in 1999 with the vision of using genomics to benefit humanity, is now one of the world's largest genomics organizations. In 2007, its headquarters was relocated to Shenzhen. It operates non-profit genomic research institutes and sequencing application commercial units.
