The conference states that China will accelerate the development of agriculture, promote the quality and efficiency of the sector and help farmers continue to improve income. Various ways will be explored to increase farmers' income and help them get rich.
Statistics show Chinese residents' disposable income increased 6.3 percent year-on-year in real terms, outpacing the growth of inflation and basically keeping pace with the growth of GDP. The income gap between urban and rural residents narrowed from a ratio of 2.83:1 to 2.82:1.
