An aerial photo of an island called Ruangong Dun on West Lake in Hangzhou city, capital of Zhejiang province. The freshwater lake in eastern China is divided into five sections by three causeways and has numerous temples, pagodas, gardens and artificial islands. It has influenced poets and painters throughout China's history for its natural beauty and historic relics, and has also been among the most important sources of inspiration for Chinese garden designers. It was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011, May 6.[Photo/IC]
