Beijing said on Aug 26 that a city man was not infected with Ebola as suspected, Beijing News reported.

A middle-aged Beijing resident showed symptoms that included nausea, vomiting and fever after returning to the capital from Libya on Aug 24. After he went to a hospital on Aug 25, he was diagnosed as a suspected Ebola case.

He was transferred to Beijing Ditan Hospital, affiliated to the Capital Medical University, one of the hospitals designated to receive suspected Ebola cases.

The man has been ruled out as a suspected Ebola case after thorough examination.

The Beijing Health Bureau has reinforced supervision of people coming from West Africa to rule out suspected Ebola cases.

According to the National Health and Family Planning Commission, patients whose temperature is above 37.3 C are required to stay for comprehensive examinations, including a blood virus test. All suspected cases are required to be transferred to a designated hospital for further examination.
