Kazakhstan and China developed relations in the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 24), just as the Silk Road was becoming a popular route for business and trade. Around 2,000 years later, the countries are still cooperating.

On Nov 5, The National Museum of China in Beijing hosted its Ancient Kazakh Treasures exhibition to give Chinese people the chance to learn about Kazakhstan’s culture. Leaders from both countries attended the opening ceremony.

The museum's exhibit had three sections. Each presented jewelry, traditional costumes and decorative arts from various periods in Kazakh history. The exhibition showcased more than 400 works from collections from Kazakhstan’s museums.

The highlight of the exhibition was the Golden Man, a masterpiece of the Scythian-Saka Civilization, which was created between the fourth and fifth centuries BC. The warrior’s armor contains over 4,000 golden plates, constructed using various metalworking techniques.

Musicians also performed live music with traditional Kazakh instruments. The exhibition will be open to the public until Nov 15.
