MANILA - President Xi Jinping said in Manila Wednesday that Asia-Pacific economies should never allow anything to disrupt the region's development process.
Addressing an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO meeting, Xi urged APEC economies to spare no efforts to foster a peaceful environment conducive to development.
Xi also called for concerted efforts to promote connectivity in Asia-Pacific region so as to make regional economy more vibrant, noting that better connectivity will increase potential in economic and social development.
China continues to welcome foreign investment
China's welcoming policy towards foreign investment will not change, Xi said.
China remains committed to providing better services for foreign investors and will always keep its door to the outside world open, he added.
He also urged relative parties to speed up the construction of the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific (FTAAP) and promote regional economic integration.
Xi suggested that the openness and inclusiveness of free trade arrangements be strengthened to the greatest extent on the basis of equal participation and ample consultation.
